PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

July, 1969 to June, 1999
United States Air Force / Colonel /Active Duty

  • Deputy Commander of two of the largest USAF Airlift wings, overseeing thousands of personnel and managing multi-million dollar budgets
  • Effectively directed and supervised a 100+ member staff supporting 30,000 US military personnel in 70 different locations worldwide.
  • Accomplished command pilot, instructor, and weapons system evaluator, logging over 5,000 flying hours. Piloted the Vice President of the United States as First Pilot on Air Force II on numerous occasions.
  • Managed a comprehensive “Equal Employment Opportunity Program” in the national capital region in which an average of 270 formal complaints per year were successfully resolved.
  • Achieved superior results while leading an assigned environmental program; went from ten violation notices to zero in less than one year, while at the same time garnering six local, state, and federal environmental awards.

August, 1999 to February, 2006
Terminal Manager of Velocity Express and Direct Express / Professional Courier Services; Operational Manager for Express Food Group.

  • Accountable to the General Manager for all day to day operations, which include the management of nearly 80 employees and the statewide routing of over 65 courier vehicles. Ops oversight of 30k sq ft freezers and 4 truck food distribution service.
